Advanced Digital Cinematography | david michael bailey
Pixar's RenderMan Studio | RenderMan for Maya
The class, directed by Matt Lewis of the Advanced Center for Computing and Design
at the Ohio State University, "provides a study of advanced issues and mathematical models used in computer graphics to
mimic the physical behavior of light and appearance of surfaces in the generation of three-dimensional CG
imagery." Personal goals involve the understanding of how the cross-disciplinarity of technologically oriented
fields of design and art (such as animation and virtual environments) impact the discipline of architecture. Most of
the students graduating from the program have their choice of large production companies (such as Pixar, Dreamworks,
Sony Pictures, etc) to work for, often such positions as Technical Director. The body of expertise in computing and
design technology is something few programs or universities have at thier disposal. My work will fall under a
Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in the Fine Arts as a Master's candidate for Architecture.
